Was in Colorado Springs to get my van his 70,000 mile "tune-up". So I got to visit my friend Dave Barrows and his family in N. Colorado Springs the night before taking my van to the shop. Lucky me, I got to spend a full day (as my van was having a "spa" day) in Manitou Springs with Dave and his son Joshua. What a wonderful town, full of springs (we counted a total of 7) and many restaurants and shops. We also walked to the Cog Railroad station. This train takes you to the top of Pikes Peak Mountain. We did not take the train, but it was definitely worth seeing the station. We also visited the trail head to the Incline, a hike that is almost vertically up MANY stairs. I am wanting to take that challenge one day soon. You can continue the hike to the top of Pikes Peak, but it takes MANY hours (a full day). Another possible item on my "to-do" list. In addition to our walking all over, we played some arcade games (Skeeball!) and found a "random" turtle in the park. Who knows what you get to see when in an artsy town.

A couple Springs to try - they all taste different.
